My name is August, but I mostly go by Gus. When I graduated from high school I thought I would either join the military or go to college to major in history. But then I discovered coding and it really resonated with me. I enrolled in the U of M Coding Boot Camp and had a great experience learning a lot very quickly and meeting great people.
Before I started the cohort, I shadowed the front end accessibility development team at U.S. Bank for an entire day. During that day I met some amazing people who taught me a lot about the important core fundamentals and how to ensure your code is accessible. I absorbed so much that day, and it fueled my desire to learn and succeed even more.
I'm currently looking for an opportunity at a company where I can put my new skills to use and learn best practices in coding.
In my spare time, I play video games and listen to music. I still enjoy learning about history and law and keeping up with politics.
